Intro

Before you dive into the setup guide (and get confused) let me lend a helping hand...

The first thing I'd like to make clear is that this setup guide in no way describes the ONLY way to set up a GPL car. It CANNOT -since a setup is a very personal thing indeed- and it is not intended to either. It is just supposed to give you a little insight at what's going on in my head when I tune my cars.

What you'll see is the result of six years of extensive sim racing and a lot of research about the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics. So all the things you'll read here are my points of view, based on this experience. I do not claim to know it all, in fact I hate people that do. Just as you and every other racer (sim or not sim) I am still learning on a daily basis.

However, there was one criteria that everything I say in this guide had to match to make it in... I had to be convinced that the mentioned procedures work the way I say they do IN THE SIM...
I mention this because the experts amongst you may notice a difference or two between what I say here and what is supposed to be common knowledge about real world cars. Let me just say: I'm aware of that....

And always remember: A setup is only a good one when YOU like it, when YOU are able to brake late, when YOU can steer the car precisely, when it allows YOU to get on the power early...

Car setups, especially with the cars we talk about here, are at least as much about driver confidence as they are about car performance....

So, after I got that out, all that's left to say is: Have fun reading and USE YOUR HEAD :-)
